This is a JavaScript user script for Firefox or Chrome that inserts links to DOI identifiers into Pubmed pages. This provides direct access to full text for many papers, particularly older ones, for which Pubmed itself does not link to the full text versions.

The DOI identifiers are looked up using a webservice provided by Note that this lookup may fail if does not have the DOI identifier on file.

  • Be sure to run Firefox (or one of its clones) or Google Chrome—with other browsers, it won't work.
  • In Firefox, install Greasemonkey; in Chrome, install Tampermonkey.
  • Install the script by clicking this link.

When visiting PubMed, you should now see a "DOI" link inserted next to each record. This link opens a new tab with an auxiliary page that performs the actual lookup.

That's all.
