Welcome to our Protein Folding Lab

Protein Folding Lab Team Summer 2016

Proteins: Folding, Structure, Function and Dynamics

Proteins are the machines of life, performing an incredible range of functions that are determined by their structure and dynamics. Our research aims to define the relationships between protein structure, function, folding and dynamics, at atomic resolution.  We use a multidisciplinary approach integrating powerful complementary experimental and modelling tools: biomolecular spectroscopy (multidimensional heteronuclear NMR, fluorescence, circular dichroism, Fourier transform IR, dynamic and static light scattering), calorimetry (differential scanning and isothermal titration), stopped-flow rapid mixing, and computational methods (bioinformatics, molecular dynamics, coarse grained), with molecular biological techniques to overexpress and modify proteins of fundamental, biotechnological and medical importance.
