As a faculty member engaged mainly in research my teaching is restricted largely to graduate student supervision. I encourage broadly based course work for students in Geography and Earth and Ocean Sciences as preparation for graduate work in hydrology and geochemistry, and offer significant opportunities for hands-on field-based training during thesis work at the M.Sc. and Ph.D level in the Athabasca Oil Sands Region. A total of 37 students, technicians, postdoctoral fellows and visiting scientists have been trained by our group since 2002.
