The Control Yuan passed a resolution to look into the exoneration of General Sun Li-Jen. Control Yuan asked Researcher Mr. Chu of the History Department of Academia Sinica to investigate and report on the case of the socalled Sun's Case. Mr. Chu reported that General Sun and his subbordinates had no intention of any Coup d'‚tat. There was no sign of organization to overthrow the Chiang government.
Mr. Chu's report indicated that General Sun wrote the Chiang to reforme the system in the Army. The report was missued by many Huang Po gangs.
The Control Yuan investigated this case in 1955, and considered Gen. Sun and all his subbordinates innocent. However, the political pressure did not allow them to give a straight report. They tuned down some aspects of the report, hoping the Chiang will allow it to be made public. Unfortunately, even the tuned down version was sealed from the public for 33 years, till 1988 after the Death of Chiang Ching Kuo.
Mr. Chu looked into the files of Control Yuan and has found the entire case against Gen. Sun and his subbordinates a fabricated. Thus, Control Yuan is now ready to push for an exoneration of General Sun and his subbordinates.
