Faculty of Science Co-op Student of the Year: Milena Gojsevic

Science that matters: Master’s student researches the potential contamination of endangered species’ nesting ponds
The whooping crane is the tallest bird in North America and is named for its distinctive “whooping” calls that can carry for several kilometres. Yet, you have likely never seen or heard one before as fewer than 600 of these birds remain in the wild.

This event is now sold out. Adults and teens are invited to learn about the upcoming total solar eclipse from some surprising perspectives.
Total Solar Eclipse Trip
On April 8th, the Faculty of Science is inviting undergraduate students on an unforgettable trip to view the solar eclipse along Lake Erie. Registration is required and transportation will be provided. Space is limited. Weather dependant.
Solar Eclipse Viewing @ Hare Winery Co
The Faculty of Science in conjunction with the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics invites science alumni and friends to Hare Winery Co in Niagara-on-the-Lake for a viewing party of the 2024 full solar eclipse.
Astronomers will guide guests through the physics of an eclipse, as well as be on hand to answer questions about the cosmos. Guests will have access to telescopes in the vineyard to further enjoy the beauty of this celestial phenomena.
